The focus of the conference will be on three issues in e-learning: (1) Quality of Course Design, (2) Quality of Student Learning, and (3) Quality of Teaching. With the focus on course design, student learning, and teaching, participants for the conference are recommended to be online faculty, instructional designers, distance education directors, and administrators. The project work groups would let people self-select and will include:
1) Peer review group of faculty for improving course design (quality of design)
2) Learning assessment project for online students (quality of learning)
3) Develop formal expectations for faculty teaching in online courses (quality of teaching baseline)
4) Faculty evaluation process and instrument creation (quality of teaching)
Facilitators for the conference will be: Barry Dahl, Vice President, Technology and Connect e-Campus and Hanna Erpestad, Dean, Liberal Arts and Sciences, both from Lake Superior State College, Duluth, Minnesota.
